The mission of the Vermont Diversity Health Project (VDHP’s) is to improve the health and wellness of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Vermonters by building bridges between health care providers and LGBTQ people throughout the state. We help patients identify friendly, supportive and effective healthcare providers, and we offer training and support to enhance providers’ skill in working with LGBTQ people.
VDHP is coordinated and run through the Health and Wellness Program of the RU12? Community Center in Winooski, VT.
The RU12? Community Center celebrates, educates and advocates with and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) Vermonters. As the state’s only LGBTQ community center and advocacy organization for adults, RU12? provides critical services and is the community’s hub and source for resources and connections. RU12? provides visibility, voice and a physical space for the LGBTQ community, through anti-violence/discrimination advocacy, HIV prevention and testing, community building, social support, education, outreach, and referrals.
